The Novel Prize Goes to... Bob Dylan!

Bob Dylan received the biggest prize in literature, the 2016 Nobel Prize. This happened in Stockholm this Thursday. Dylan has created innovated poetic expressions within the American song tradition.

The award is received by poets, novelists and writers of short stories. And you should know that usually it is given for lifetime work. The prize comes with over $900,000.

Bob is famous for his anti-war pieces, for example “The Times They Are A-Changin” or “Blowin’ in the Wind”. By the way, in May the singer has released his 37th studio album. It received name Fallen Angels.

Starting since 1993, Bob is the first American to win this award. The previous holder of the award is Toni Morrison, the author of the “Beloved”. Svetlana Alexievich, a journalist from Belorussia, has taken the Nobel with her in 2015.

Gao Xingijan, a novelist from China, Alice Munro, a short story writer from Canada, Tomas Transtromer, a poet from Sweden, Patrick Modiano, a novelist from France and Mo Yan, a novelist from China, have also won this award in the previous years.
