Ann was hit by criticism online after her win:
"You should be happy after events like this. But I wasn't. I felt something was wrong. I stood at the ceremony in a dress that cost more money than some people will see in a lifetime. And I was rewarded for portraying the pain and suffering that is part of our shared human experience. I tried to pretend that I was happy. But I felt it was a challenge."
The actress admitted that criticism on the internet has helped her personal growth, inspired her, and empowered her.
