It was an UNFORGETTABLE night for @wcrfcure as we raised so much money to fund research to cure breast cancer and many other women’s cancers. @demimoore was our honoree this year. She has been an advocate for years. Tig Notaro was our fearless emcee. Wallis Annenberg was our UNSUNG HERO and singing like an angel was @theofficialsting FIELDS OF Gold, Englishman in New York, Dont Stand So Close to Me and always inspiring @trudiestyler and @melaniegriffith Thank you to everyone who showed up. 25th anniversary. Proud of this group of women I get to call friends.

#NowandThen A younger friend shared with me tonight how she watches Now and Then about once a month. This movie brought so much joy to so many!!!! Me, included. @demimoore produced this with Suzanne and Jen Todd. My friend from childhood @melaniegriffith and I finally got to work together ( we didn’t have scenes together in Bonfire of the vanities) and @rosie who has always been a friend from the day we met made for a joyous experience. Such a great young cast. Marlene king wrote the script. Leslie Linka Glatter directed. Every moment was infused with fun and laughter. The young actress who played Chrissy, the character I played as an older person, passed away at a young age. She was so sweet. Gaby Hoffman was in Sleepless with Rosie and me. Thora was such a pro as was @riccigrams Thank you Demi for casting me! Here’s a piece of trivia: this was the first time I ever sang professionally. I sang I’ll Be There the Jackson Five song. And later covered it on my Now & Forever Duets album which you are listening to if you have your sound up!

Kate Middleton, @princeandprincessofwales The Princess of Wales, with courage, has announced she has cancer. She has a right to keep her health private. We all do. Or should, anyway. Much reflection goes into whether or not one chooses to reveal a diagnosis. I hope she didn’t feel pressured, in any way, to let the world know, but I am sure her announcement will help women everywhere who may be going through cancer treatment themselves. Her message that “you are not alone” is true. I pray that she feels the support of all who wish her the best and want her health restored as soon as possible. She is a mother. Unless you’ve gone through something like this, and the mothers out there know this, all that matters is being there for your children. It’s everything you want. I hope you all send your prayers and good thoughts to Kate for a cancer free future. Xo
