Alec Baldwin Speaks On His Lyme Disease

Alec Baldwin sang “Hallelujah” on the final season of Saturday Night Live to jetting to California to speak for the 1st time since a 2011 casual comment to the New York Times about his Lyme disease.

Standing on the stage for the Bay Area Lyme Foundation LymeAid benefit for research at a private home in the woodsy enclave of Portola Valley, Ca outside Palo Alto, Alec told that they had him hiding in the bushes over there at a Lyme disease benefit.

The star as dragging his feet to talk about the issue and Linda Giampa, the Bay Area Lyme Foundation Executive Director, stated that it took her years to get Alec to attend the event. Finally, the star decided to do it back in 2016, but then he decided to do the SNL finale.

The director told that they had already sold out the event for 350 people when she found out. So Linda asked Alec if he would do it next night and the star said “yes”. According to Giampa, Baldwin felt it was right time to speak about the disease.

According to Alec, he was sure he had chronic Lyme disease even ahead of doctor’s diagnosis. Almost 17 years ago he got bitten and had a shot. Several years later he got bitten again.
