Katy Perry will pay almost $3 million for plagiarism of Dark Horse's song

Katy Perry was ordered to pay cash compensation for the Dark Horse song plagiarism. The money transfers to the rappers Flame and Lecrae. 

Information about the verdict of the jury of the Federal court of Los Angeles appeared on the pages of foreign media. The infamous song released in 2013. The claimed amount distributed on the very Katy Perry and co-authors who participated in the writing of the composition.

The singer will pay 20% of the total amount, which is approximately 550 thousand dollars. The remaining funds will compensate for the record label Capitol Records, the rapper Juicy J, who performed one of the verses, and the producers of the American performer.

According to the court decision, Katy Perry copied the rhythmic pattern of a song released several years ago. At the same time, it was not possible to confirm the intention of the singer's actions during the investigation.

By the way, Dark Horse's song is on Katy Perry's hit list. She held a leading position on the Billboard Hot 100 charts for several weeks and won the Grammy Award in 2015.
