Angelina Jolie sells Churchill painting at auction

Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie has decided to sell at auction Christie's painting, created by former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill.

The painting, The Tower of Qutub Mosque, was the only one Churchill completed during the Second World War from 1939 to 1945.

The painting depicts a 12th-century mosque in Marrakech, Morocco.

Initially, former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill presented it to American President Franklin Roosevelt. However, after the White House leader died in 1945, his son sold the painting. Since then, it had changed many owners before it was bought by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt in 2011.

It is noted that the auction will take place next month. The painting is expected to sell more than $1200000.
