Back in the fall of 2020, Finneas O'Connell, the singer's producer and older brother reported that they were hard at work on her second album.
The new album will be a follow-up to the Grammy-winning debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?
In April, Eilish revealed that her second album, Happier Than Ever, would be out July 30 this year. The star also unveiled the single Your Power, which will be on the new album, and a music video. In June, the second song from the new album, Lost Cause, and a music video was released.
The star, who tries to keep the details of her personal life under wraps, confessed in an interview, "I've been in relationships twice. But in something authentic and normal - never."
But now rumors are swirling that a song from the new album, "Your Power," about a toxic relationship and abuse of power by one of her partners, is about her ex-boyfriend Brandon Adams, mentioned in the tape. Here's what Ailish has to say about it:
"Everybody needs to shut up. [The documentary] had a microscopic, tiny slice of that relationship. Nobody knows about it at all."
All in all, the singer presents the tendency of Web users to spread rumors about her life.
"Every time I see some impression on the Internet, it just reminds me how little the Internet knows about me. I have such a vibrant personality that people feel like they know everything about me and know nothing. That I can sing. That I am a woman. That I have a personality," she says.
She agrees that fans' reactions and their desire to dive into her personal life are expected, but says, "You have to respect me when I give you this much information and say, 'That's all you get. The rest is for my brain."
