Britney Spears ends career because of father's custody

The famous singer won't take the stage until she gets rid of her father's control.

Singer Britney Spears, 39, is trying through the courts to get custody, which allows her father, James Spears, to control almost every aspect of his star daughter's creative and personal life, revoked.

On July 18, Britney shocked fans by posting an extensive post on her Instagram blog where she said she was ending her career and would not return to the stage because of her father.

"Look, I'm not going to be performing on any stages anytime soon as long as my father controls what I wear, say, do or think! I've been doing that for the last 13 years. This custody has killed my dreams... So I'm leaving..." - stated the artist.

Britney Spears has been living under guardianship since she was 26 years old. In 2008, the guardians took control of her finances and career, and her personal life due to the artist's substance abuse problems.
