Mariah Carey's brother sued the star for defamation

After reading a memoir called The Meaning of Mariah Carey, released last year, the relative accused her of defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

In one chapter of her book, Carey talked about Morgan's impulsive and unpredictable behavior:

"I never felt safe, and I wasn't safe. His anger was unpredictable. I never knew when it would boil over and who it would come down on."

She also recalled her brother in other sections, and he didn't like it at all in what way.

Morgan claims that from his sister's memoirs, he "experienced intense heartache, anxiety about his future and his ability to support his family, felt the damage to his reputation and shame to his friends and colleagues." Also, he said that he had an emotional breakdown from Mariah's words and "stopped enjoying life."

We note that Mariah's sister, Allison, also sued her for the same reason and is seeking $1.25 million in libel damages.

So far, Mariah has not commented on the statements of her relatives.
