Media names artist of the decade

Canadian rapper Drake was named the artist of the decade by the prestigious music industry magazine Billboard. 

The award will be presented to the 34-year-old musician on May 23 at the Billboard Music Awards.

Drake has a total of 27 Billboard awards received over the years. He is the record holder for the prize.

Drake first appeared on the publication's charts in 2009. From 2010 to 2020, he topped the Billboard 200 chart nine times.

Taylor Swift and Bruno Mars were also in the top three artists from 2010 to 2020. And Rihanna, Adele, Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, the band Maroon 5, and rapper Post Malone were also in the top 10.

Drake also currently holds the world record for the most listens on streaming audio service Spotify. He became the first artist in history to break the milestone of 50 billion listens.
