Beyonce Could Not Perform In Beauty and the Beast

Beyoncé was supposed to be in the cast of Disney's live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast.

The show’s director has already worked with the singer. She acted as Deena Jones in the 2006 footage called Dreamgirls.

Robert Townsend, who directed MTV's Carmen: A Hip Hopera.

So, the part in the show was not big enough. The star would have been a good feather duster.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw was chosen as Plumette. She worked together with Luke Evans (playing Gaston), Kevin Kline (Maurice), Nathan Mack (Chip), Emma Thompson (Mrs. Potts), Audra McDonald (Madame de Garderobe), Stanley Tucci (Maestro Cadenza), Josh Gad (LeFou), Ewan McGregor (Lumière), Ian McKellen (Cogsworth), Dan Stevens (Beast) and Emma Watson (Belle).

Beyoncé supported Condon's reimagining, sneaking the film's world premiere in L.A. with her family. The movie, released in March 2017, later earned over $1 billion at the global box office.
